Boom-Bada-Bing!
So if you haven’t heard, Microsoft has replaced their outdated, congested and boring LiveSearch with “Bing“.
I took some time to test it by comparing it to my search engine of choice, google. I entered matching search queries to both engines and from there compared the results. I found the results to be up to par with Google, at least with everything I searched for, from generic categories to specific errors. I am really impressed Bing’s image search, the results seem to be very organized. Overall, like Windows 7, I think bing far surpasses its predecessor and is a descent search engine. It has a simple UI homepage (where did that idea come from Mr. Ballmer?), simple and quick search results and beautiful photography for the homepage background image. On the topic of the background image, it is covered with hot spots that reveal interesting little factoids about the image when you hover over them with your mouse, which is worth some extra cool points. All in all, I must admit, Microsoft has a search engine that may finally be a worthy adversary of the Google Giant, only time will tell! Check it out for yourself….
